Mr. John Randolph

WELCOME TO ROUND LAKE MIDDLE SCHOOL!

I am honored and excited to serve as the new principal at Round Lake Middle School. I come from Magee Middle School where I was the assistant principal for Curriculum and Instruction. Before then I was at Indian Hill Elementary where I was the Assistant Principal for the past 3 years. Prior to that I was a curriculum and instruction specialist for science, instructional coach, and middle school science teacher here with Round Lake Area Schools.

District 116 is where my heart has found its place among dedicated educators and staff, valued students, and a wonderful community, all of whom want nothing but the best for our students.

Education is my second career. After I graduated high school, I joined the Marine Corps and was honorably discharged after 4 years of service. I moved to Illinois and was an automotive technician where I restored vintage Jaguars and worked for Mercedes Benz as a systems technician. I loved what I did but found that education was my true calling. Here at Round Lake Middle, our passion is education. We recognize the vast potential within each and every student that passes through our doors and are committed to their success. Together, anything is possible.

This year will mark the 25th anniversary of being married to an incredible wife that has guided and supported me with all her heart and soul. Together we have one daughter who recently graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She majored in biochemistry and successfully completed the Air Force ROTC program and was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant this past May. We are beyond proud and wish her all the best in her journey forward.

I am honored to be teaming up with Mr. Joseph Williams, Mrs. Rebecca Guildoo, and an incredible staff that all have the talent, love, and dedication to ensure our students receive the best educational experience possible and are prepared for high school and beyond. I look forward to meeting new families and friends and continuing to work with the incredible community that is Round Lake.

Sincerely,

John Randolph

Mr. Joseph Williams

Greetings Wildcat Nation!

Welcome to a new school year! This year, I am full of optimism, passion, and focus, and sincerely honored to be given the opportunity to serve our families, our staff, and most importantly: our scholars. As many of us know, the middle school years in each scholar’s life are some of the most pivotal and transformational. Our goal is to offer our scholars the tools to help them persevere through adversity, to think critically about issues in the world that surrounds them, and to prepare them for a successful transition into high school and beyond. Academic excellence is our goal.

I have the distinct privilege of being the Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction here at Round Lake Middle School. Prior to serving at RLMS, I have served as an Assistant Principal, Instructional Coach, Behavior Interventionist, and as a teacher at the middle school level. As a teacher, I oversaw school safety, curriculum planning, and family engagement. I also formed partnerships with community leaders and agencies to create mentorship programs that focused on a variety of topics, ranging from literacy and math skills to character building and community service opportunities.

Leadership involves collaboration, empathy, communication, and treating each other with dignity and kindness. Even as we persevere through our own challenges, it is important to remember that each tomorrow is a new opportunity to start anew, and another opportunity to make ours and each other’s dreams a reality. I look forward to working alongside you this year and being a partner in your scholar’s education.

Welcome back, Wildcats!

I am honored to be starting my first year at Round Lake Middle School as the Assistant Principal of Student Services. I have nine years of experience in education. During this time, I have taught high school math, gained experience as an Assistant Dean, and been the summer school Principal at a Middle School the last two summers. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Carroll University and continued my Education at Concordia University with Master’s Degrees in Curriculum and Instruction as well as Principal Preparation Administration. I am passionate about continuing my education and sharing my knowledge with others. I am excited about the opportunity to learn from the wonderful staff and students at Round Lake Middle School.

Middle school is an important time in students' academic and social journeys. I believe that all students are able to learn and achieve excellence. My goal is to work with our wonderful staff and students to create a collaborative learning environment where all students feel safe to learn, try new things, and express themselves.

It is important to me to maintain clear communication with students, families, and staff. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. I am here to support your students to ensure they have a great year!

Sincerely,

Becky Guildoo
