WELCOME TO ROUND LAKE MIDDLE SCHOOL!

I am honored and excited to serve as the new principal at Round Lake Middle School. I come from Magee Middle School where I was the assistant principal for Curriculum and Instruction. Before then I was at Indian Hill Elementary where I was the Assistant Principal for the past 3 years. Prior to that I was a curriculum and instruction specialist for science, instructional coach, and middle school science teacher here with Round Lake Area Schools.

District 116 is where my heart has found its place among dedicated educators and staff, valued students, and a wonderful community, all of whom want nothing but the best for our students. 

Education is my second career. After I graduated high school, I joined the Marine Corps and was honorably discharged after 4 years of service. I moved to Illinois and was an automotive technician where I restored vintage Jaguars and worked for Mercedes Benz as a systems technician. I loved what I did but found that education was my true calling. Here at Round Lake Middle, our passion is education. We recognize the vast potential within each and every student that passes through our doors and are committed to their success. Together, anything is possible. 

This year will mark the 27th anniversary of being married to an incredible wife that has guided and supported me with all her heart and soul. Together we have one daughter who recently graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She majored in biochemistry and successfully completed the Air Force ROTC program, air battle manager school (ABM), SERE training, and was recently promoted to 1st lieutenant. We are beyond proud and wish her all the best in her journey forward. 

I am honored to be teaming up with an incredible staff that all have the talent, love, and dedication to ensure our students receive the best educational experience possible and are prepared for high school and beyond. I look forward to meeting new families and friends and continuing to work with the incredible community that is Round Lake.

¡Bienvenidos a la Escuela Secundaria Round Lake!

Me siento honrado y emocionado de servir como nuevo director de la Escuela Secundaria Round Lake. Vengo de Magee Middle School, donde fui subdirector de currículo e instrucción. Antes de eso, trabajé en la Escuela Primaria Indian Hill, donde fui subdirector por 3 años. Previamente a eso, fui especialista de currículo e instrucción para ciencias, entrenador de instrucción y maestro de ciencias de la escuela secundaria aquí en las Escuelas del área de Round Lake.

El Distrito 116 es donde mi corazón ha encontrado su lugar entre educadores y personal educativo dedicado, estudiantes valiosos y una comunidad maravillosa, y todos deseamos lo mejor para nuestros estudiantes.

La educación es mi segunda carrera. Después de graduarme de la preparatoria, me uní al Cuerpo de Marines y fui dado de baja honorablemente después de 4 años de servicio. Me mudé a Illinois donde fui técnico automotriz, restaurando Jaguares antiguos y trabajé para Mercedes Benz como técnico de sistemas. Amaba lo que hacía, pero descubrí que la educación era mi verdadera vocación. Aquí en la Escuela Secundaria Round Lake nuestra pasión es la educación. Reconocemos el gran potencial en cada uno de los estudiantes que pasan por nuestras puertas y estamos comprometidos con su éxito. Juntos, todo es posible.

Este año se cumplirá el vigésimo quinto aniversario de mi matrimonio con una esposa increíble que me ha guiado y apoyado con todo su corazón y alma. Juntos tenemos una hija que recientemente se graduó de la Universidad de Illinois en Urbana-Champaign. Se especializó en bioquímica y completó con éxito el programa ROTC de la Fuerza Aérea y fue nombrada segunda teniente el año pasado en mayo. Estamos más que orgullosos y le deseamos todo lo mejor para su futuro.

Es un honor para mí trabajar en equipo con el Sr. Joseph Williams, la Sra. Rebecca Guildoo y un personal escolar increíble lleno de talento, amor y dedicación en garantizar que nuestros estudiantes reciban la mejor experiencia educativa posible y estén preparados para la escuela secundaria y más allá. Espero conocer nuevas familias y amigos y seguir trabajando con la increíble comunidad que es Round Lake.

Welcome back, Wildcats!

I am thrilled to be continuing my journey at Round Lake Middle School as the Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction. With twelve years of experience in education, including teaching high school math and serving as Assistant Principal of Student Services, I bring a deep commitment to student success and a passion for educational leadership. Together, with our incredible staff, we strive to inspire and empower our students to become confident, compassionate, and responsible lifelong learners. 

My educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Carroll University, along with Master’s Degrees in Curriculum and Instruction and Principal Preparation Administration from Concordia University. I am dedicated to lifelong learning and eager to share my knowledge with our school community.

Middle school is a pivotal time in students' lives, where academic growth and personal development intersect. I firmly believe that every student has the potential to excel, and I am committed to fostering a collaborative learning environment at Round Lake Middle School. Together with our exceptional team, we will continue to innovate and enhance our programs, ensuring that we meet the diverse needs and interests of our students.

¡Saludos Wildcats!

Me emociona continuar mi trayectoria en la Escuela Round Lake Middle como subdirectora de currículo e instrucción. Tengo doce años de experiencia en educación, estos incluyen la enseñanza de matemáticas en la escuela secundaria y la labor como subdirectora de servicios estudiantiles, por lo que puedo aportar un profundo compromiso para el éxito de los estudiantes y una pasión por el liderazgo educativo. Junto con nuestro increíble personal escolar, nos esforzamos por inspirar y empoderar a nuestros estudiantes para que se conviertan en aprendices seguros, compasivos y responsables de por vida.

Mi formación académica incluye una licenciatura en matemáticas de la Universidad de Carroll, junto con maestrías en currículo e instrucción y preparación de director en administración de la Universidad de Concordia. Estoy dedicada al aprendizaje permanente y ansiosa por compartir mi conocimiento con nuestra comunidad escolar.

La escuela secundaria es un momento crucial en la vida de los estudiantes, ya que es ahí donde se cruzan el crecimiento académico y el desarrollo personal. Creo firmemente que cada estudiante tiene el potencial para sobresalir por lo que estoy comprometida a fomentar un entorno de aprendizaje colaborativo en Round Lake Middle School. Mr. Nicholas Pegarsch

Welcome Wildcats!

I am excited and honored to be the new Assistant Principal of Student Services here at Round Lake Middle School. The last 3 years I was the Multilingual Learners Department Chair, a wrestling coach, and the sponsor of our Black Student Union at Magee Middle School. Prior to that I was a Social Studies ESL teacher at Round Lake High School for seven years.

I earned my Masters and Bachelors degrees from Northeastern Illinois University. I also earned an Associates degree from McHenry County College. I am a lifelong learner, particularly interested in political science, history, and language acquisition and policy.

I am dedicated to serving the Round Lake community and I am eager to learn a lot in my new role. I look forward to getting to know the wonderful staff, students, and families that have already been so welcoming.

¡Saludos Wildcats!

Me siento muy emocionado y honrado de ser el nuevo Subdirector de Servicios Estudiantiles de la Escuela Secundaria Round Lake. Durante los últimos tres años trabajé en la Escuela Secundaria Magee como Director del Departamento de Aprendices Multilingües, entrenador de lucha libre y promotor de la Unión de Estudiantes de Raza Negra.  Antes de eso, fui maestro de Estudios Sociales con Inglés cómo Segunda Lengua (ESL por sus siglas en inglés) en la Preparatoria Round Lake por siete años. 

Obtuve mi licenciatura y mi maestría en la Universidad Northeastern de Illinois. También tengo  un título de asociado del Colegio Comunitario de McHenry.  Soy una persona que siempre quiere aprender y me interesan en particular las ciencias políticas, la historia y la adquisición del idioma y sus políticas.

Estoy comprometido con servir a la comunidad de Round Lake, y estoy ansioso por aprender mucho más en mi nuevo cargo. Espero poder conocer al maravilloso personal, a los estudiantes y a las familias, que ya me han dado una calurosa bienvenida.
