Fine Arts

About
Round Lake Area School District 116 has a rich history of performers, musicians, actors, and artists.
The middle school arts program offers our students opportunities to grow and develop artistically through meaningful explorations of concepts, materials, personal ideas, skill-building techniques, art appreciation, art history, and criticism. Outside of class, our students have the opportunity to have their work showcased, attend field trips, and participate in community projects.
The middle school music curriculum offers our students engaging opportunities to explore, analyze, practice, and perform a diverse landscape of music at all ages. Our band and choir students have opportunities to perform for their school, the district, the community, and with Round Lake High School.
Our middle schools offer many extra curricular activities to expand artistic pursuits through other avenues. Students interested in the theatre or developing their artistic crafts for the stage are encouraged to join Drama Club. Budding photographers and graphic designers are encouraged to join Yearbook Club. Students passionate about art are encouraged to join Art Club and the National Junior Art Honors Society (NJAHS).
Our Vision
All students who participate in the Round Lake Area Schools Fine Arts programs will be able to develop, innovate, create, appreciate, and promote the Arts.
